Saturday 24th October 2009 (17:33)Well done all...Well done to all those who took part in running this morning's 10k and for all those spectators cheering them on their way. The marshalls, stewards and other helpers did a fantastic job and full praise goes to the organising team. We hope you enjoyed the event. The weather was good to us all. Results are available and photos will be uploaded to the site which will be sold for charity. Details available by Wednesday on the Photos page. An event report will be online soon. However On-the-day Entries will be available from 8.15am at Lloyd Park where everyone assembles - off Lloyd Park Avenue. The desk will close about 9.40am. Please leave enough time as there is usually a rush at the last moment and the desk is usually busy. Best to get there earlier. 460 runners crossed the finish line in the 10k race. The biggest field
ever for the 3k event was made up of 47 finishers over two age categories.
The weather stayed good for us which added to the overall community atmosphere
experienced by all. Sunday 19th October 2008Latest News on this coming Sunday's event.Online Entries have been coming in fast within the last couple of weeks. You can still enter online through the link on the left of this page. Online Entries will close on Saturday at noon. If you enter now, you will need to pick up your race number and information on the day in good time. Information will give you an update on who has entered as well as reading through the Information sheet. For October 2008, we are very pleased to see the Croydon 10k return to it's most favourable home. the Start and Finish being back at Lloyd Park Avenue. A temporary road closure for the first part of the route was granted earlier this year as well as Police contolling all the major road junctions. Please enter on-line if possible or download an entry form for posting. Please note the change from 1st April 2008. All Photos have now been published.Please note from October 2007, there will be a small fee for the photographs. The whole amount will go towards CRY charity http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ - Cardiac Risk in the Young. A minimum donation of £1.50 per image is suggested and cheques are to be payable to CRY. The charity is able to get an additional 28p to each pound donated by cheque. Please send cheques with your email address and the image filenames you would like and we will email the images to you in the full size upon receipt of your cheque. The photos on the site are a fifth of the original size so the quality will be much better than seen. Click Here for the address to send your cheques to. The older photos will remain downloadable in it's untampered state. We hope you will support this worthy charity by purchasing the photos. Sunday 28th October 2007Event Report Available. Slight delay on photosA full report can now be read - found in the "Event Reports" section. Apologies for the slight delay in publishing the photos on the website. This is now being worked on and all the photos will be available by the end of weekend. We would be grateful if you would comment on the event held last Sunday. This is a valuable opportunity to improve on the organisation for furture events. The next Croydon 10k and 3k Race will be held next October. The date will be announced by the end of the year. Thursday 25th October 2007New Course Records SetA great Senior time of 30:51 for Michael Skinner of Blackheath & Bromley Harriers beating John Kimaiyo's time of 32:18 in October 2006. There have also been a number of own course records beaten on the current course. David Earl (V70) improved on his time by 22 seconds whilst in the 3k, Emma Barlow cut down her time by 36 seconds.
