Press - 2007 Route Plan Future Events Contact us |
EVENT CANCELLED: April 2007It is with regret that the decision had to be taken to cancel the April 2007 Croydon 10k event. The main reason was for not being able to find another sponsor in time who would come onboard but there were other factors. We know most of you will be saddened by this news which we apologise. The event has run annually from 1982 and from 1996 became a bi-annual event and the only event which was postponed previously was in October 1995 when the route was re-designed to keep off the major roads leading into central Croydon when Sunday shopping traffic increased. The good news is the Autumn event will be held on Sunday 21st October 2007. If there are any interested parties who would be interested in sponsoring the event, we will be very keen to hear from you, using the contact details under "Contact Us" in the Menu. We hope all of you will continue to support the event and make it an even bigger one in October ! 23rd October 2006Results from yesterday were added to the website yesterday afternoon by Sport Systems. Photos and reports to follow shortly. 21st October 2006Remember to go to the new Assembly area where the revised Start and Finish will be. Do not go to Lloyd Park Avenue ! Also when running round the route, do not turn into Lloyd Park Avenue thinking it is the finish - nice try. You need to go straight up Coombe Road on the pavement. Further up this path you will approach the 5km stage where the Water Station is. Move to the Right if you require water, otherwise stay left on the path. ENJOY THE RUN !! 20th October 2006The 3k Fun Run Information along with a map of the 2 lap course has been updated. Race Numbers and Info Packs have all been posted now and you should have received yours by now. If you do not receive it by Saturday 1pm, please allow enough time to go to the Info Desk on Sunday and quote your Race number. You can see who has entered the 10k Race HERE Please ensure you have read the additional Information document regarding the Changes this October 10th October 2006Race Numbers are being posted out over the next few days along with information including the change of instructions to runners and the moved start, finish and assembly area. 10th October 2006 - IMPORTANT UPDATEThe Start, Finish and Assembly area for the October event will be in a different location to what most people will be familiar with. Sadly but in the interest of safety, we have been advised to move the Start and Finish line further round the route and will be positioned at the end of Mapledale Avenue which is off Addiscombe Road. Please refer to the amended Route Plan and "How to Get There" pages. Signs will be in place at Lloyd Park Avenue to remind anyone on the day to walk to new assembly area. Please leave a little more time than usual. The route will continue in the usual manner - anti-clockwise circuit and from Mapledale Avenue will join back onto Grimwade Avenue then into Sandilands and continue on as normal although instead of turning left into Lloyd Park Avenue runners will head up the Coombe Road. A Marshal will be at the end of Lloyd Park Avenue to steer you clear of this road ! Back along Addiscombe Road and turning Left at Sandilands, runners will turn left into Fitzjames Avene to the end of this road and branch Right into Upfield. Upon turning Left into Mapledale Avenue will be the short home straight to the finish line. More information on this will be available by Thursday evening (12/10/06) 14th September 2006Entries are now being taken on-line. Emails are being sent out to all those who subscribed as well as those who entered last April. For those who did not submit their email address, you will receive a postal entry form. Due to the shorter time we have until the day, we would appreciate if you could enter on-line. We apologise for the delay which was beyond our control. The event will very much be back for the Sunday 22nd October - we hope you will be on-board ! Further updates will be provided shortly. 8th July 2006We hope to have full details and open up On-Line Entries for 22nd October soon. Apologies for the delay of information. 17th April 2006Hope you all enjoyed last Sunday's event in the 10k Race and the 3k Fun Run. A full Press Report is available. Results were available from Sunday evening and photos have just been added. To keep you updated, the next Lexus Croydon 10k Race and 3k Fun Run will be on Sunday 22nd October 2006.
